The Beginning of Panorama Marketing Group

Perhaps I could do for pay what I always seemed to be doing for fun.

I love putting communications together for various organizations.  It is fun to see what gets people’s attention and what doesn’t.

Email Marketing opened up a whole new realm of possibilities.  The days of worrying about postage costs, postal regulations, printers etc gave way to instant communications via email.  Email allows color and immediate feedback.  Email appeals can raise money for a cause almost immediately.  With direct mail you have to wait – and after spending a fortune on paper and postage, and hours preparing the mailing we were often disappointed with results.  With email marketing it is pretty easy to refine the appeal and try again.

I noticed a lot of people doing web work when they lost their jobs.  Competition was fierce.  But not many people did email marketing.  And email marketing is different than web development.  The technology isn’t the same.  People don’t realize that what works on a web page won’t work for an html email.  It takes a bit of smarts!

Plus people don’t realize the psychology of email marketing. The use of subject lines, the “from” part, etc all make a difference.  People don’t want to receive your email as much as you want to send it – you have to understand it.
So we found out little niche – Professional Email Marketing.  And we found Social Media goes hand-in-hand.  Facebook isn’t a competitor – it’s an ally.  And to complete the troika we made it back to web development.  After all, the point of most emails is to get people to visit a website.
